Satan is already a defeated enemy, so his main strategy is to deceive us into believing lies that keep us bound long after we're actually free. Pastor Linn walks through four of those lies — about obedience, deserving sin, God's goodness, and being too far gone — and shows that the truth of Scripture and the cross breaks every one of them.

Every believer lives behind a hedge of protection God has placed around them, limiting what Satan can do. Pastor Linn shows from Job, Luke, and 1 Samuel that when we dabble in the supernatural apart from God — Ouija boards, tarot cards, mediums, horoscopes — we step outside that hedge, and what we encounter is either a fake or genuinely demonic. The hope is that Christians cannot be possessed, since the Holy Spirit already lives in them, but they can still be oppressed by stepping outside God's protection, and repentance restores them behind the hedge.

Evil is real and it seeks to deceive us, but we don't have to be humiliated by it if we prepare in the light of God's word rather than the dark. When we receive Jesus, we receive a new identity as children of God, and learning to speak the gospel fluently is how we stand firm against Satan's lies and see others transformed.
